Ford reveals full pricing for 2015 S-MAX and C-MAX range

Ford's newest MPVs will start from £18,145 for C-MAX and £24,545 for S-MAX, both get raft of new tech and features.

Ford's process of updating its range continues with all-new second-generation S-MAX, and the 2015 facelift of the C-MAX and Grand C-MAX people carriers. The seven-seat S-MAX will kick off at £24,545, while the C-MAX starts at £18,145 and the Grand C-MAX opens at £20,295.

The latest S-MAX was unveiled in production form at last year's Paris Motor Show, and is set for UK release this summer. It uses a brand new modular platform first seen on the latest Mondeo, and promises a host of advanced new features to go with its sharper look, upgraded cabin and extra practicality.

The headline £24,545 starting price gets you a 158bhp 1.5-litre Ecoboost turbo petrol engine in base Zetec trim. It gets Ford's latest 'SYNC 2' touchscreen infotainment and navigation system, front and rear parking sensors, keyless start, sports seats and a DAB radio.

The cheapest 118bhp 2.0-litre Duratorq diesel engine starts at £25,245 in Zetec spec, with the 148bhp unit costing just £750 more. The Powershift six-speed auto adds £1,500.

Pay another £700 for Titanium spec and you lose the option of the lowest-powered diesel but gain privacy glass, auto lights and wipers, cruise control, LED daytime running lights and advanced tech such as Traffic Sign Recognition.

The top-spec Titanium Sport brings the most powerful engines in the range, such as the automatic-only 237bhp 2.0-litre turbo petrol for £31,300. £29,945 gets you a 178bhp 2.0-litre diesel, with the automatic-only all-wheel drive option at £32,945. The range-topping 208bhp twin-turbo diesel engine is again auto-only and costs £32,260.

Titanium Sport also adds a full bodykit including a rear spoiler, and sports suspension. Options for the 2015 S-MAX include Dynamic LED lights, power-folding rear seats and a segment-first Intelligent Speed Limiter.

C-Max 2015 range

Meanwhile Ford's mid-size C-MAX range sits below the S-MAX and above the Fiesta-based B-MAX. Unlike the old S-MAX which has been around since 2006, the C-MAX is still a relatively new platform and so this is merely a series of updates, in a similar vein to the Focus hatch last year.

Ford C-MAX facelift

That means the now familiar trapezoidal chrome grille has been grafted on the front-end, while inside the redesigned dashboard and centre console help create a more premium ambience. There's no more space than before, but there is more advanced tech and a revised engine range.

The C-MAX range kicks of at £18,145 for the five-seat model with a 1.6-litre, 123bhp naturally aspirated petrol engine in Zetec trim. £500 extra gets you the lower-powered 1.0-litre Ecoboost petrol, while the 123bhp unit is £500 on top of that. The cheapest diesel is the £19,895 118bhp 1.5 TDCI. The flagship engine is the 148bhp 2.0 TDCI diesel from £22,895 in Titanium trim.

The seven-seat Grand model comes with the same trims and range of engines, and is available from £20,295.
