MS-RT Ford Transit Connect offers aggressive looks for £24k

Welsh tuning company MS-RT now offers a styling pack for the Transit Connect van, which adds a new body kit and a revised interior

MS-RT has announced a new styling pack for the Ford Transit Connect van, which adds a more aggressive body kit and a reworked interior. The launch edition model goes on sale in September this year, priced at £23,995 for the manual and £24,995 for the automatic, with production being limited to 40 units. Standard production vans will be available from October.

Exterior revisions include a set of 18-inch OZ Racing wheels, a new front bumper with a deeper splitter, LED headlights, a fresh rear bumper with a larger diffuser, wider side skirts, a lairier rear wing and a quad-exit stainless steel exhaust system. Launch edition models will also come with an exclusive set of decals and a numbered “Limited Edition” plaque.

The interior of the MS-RT Transit Connect is trimmed in nappa leather and suede, and all models get a carbon-fibre inlaid sports steering wheel, LED loadspace lighting and a six-inch infotainment system with sat-nav and a reversing camera. In addition, buyers get an MS-RT branded bag, containing a range of car cleaning products.

Both the launch edition model and the standard production variant will only be available with Ford’s turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel, producing 118bhp and 270Nm of torque. Fuel economy should be comparable to the standard van, at 53.3mpg, while emissions stand at 130g/km of CO2.

Ford has awarded the MS-RT conversion a “Qualified Vehicle Modifiers” certificate, meaning all MS-RT Transit Connects come with a three-year, 100,000-mile warranty as standard. Optional extras include bronze alloy wheels, a Maxhaust exhaust system, a rally decal pack, black exhaust tips and a full carbon-fibre steering wheel.
