ABT Power S tuning package launched for new Audi RS 4

The 532bhp tuning package fitted to the limited edition Audi RS 4-R is now available for general sale, with a range of updated styling features

Tuning specialist ABT has released a new package for the Audi RS 4 Avant. Called the ABT Power S package, it contains the same mechanical and electronic upgrades fitted to 2018’s limited edition RS 4-R ABT, but features a redesigned aerodynamic package to suit the RS 4’s recent facelift.

Cosmetic enhancements are restrained, limited to an updated diffuser, as well as a tweaked front bumper and splitter which fit the standard RS 4’s updated headlamps. ABT also offers a new range of alloy wheels, in sizes up between 20 and 21-inches.

Inside, the cabin is trimmed heavily in carbon fibre, and there’s a pair of part-leather bucket seats and a leather sports steering wheel – although buyers can also choose from a handful of different options. Additions include an ABT-branded starter button cap, carbon fibre seat frames, and carbon fibre dashboard trim.

Like the limited edition 2018 variant, the updated estate features the same 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 as the standard RS 4, but the modified version has an extra 79bhp courtesy of an ABT-specific ECU and a sports exhaust with a set of four carbon fibre tailpipes at the rear. An uprated intercooler is also available as an optional extra.

As well as packing 523bhp, the revised ABT RS 4-R has 690Nm of torque, which is a 90Nm increase. As a result the upgraded super-estate’s 0–62mph time is three-tenths of a second quicker than the standard car’s, with a claimed time of 3.8 seconds. Top speed remains electronically limited to 174mph.

ABT has retained the special edition model’s extensive range of chassis upgrades. As standard, there are lowered springs with dampers developed in conjunction with suspension specialist KW Automotive – although buyers can also optionally spec the tuning firm’s own height adjustable dampers and uprated anti-roll bars.
