New Bentley Bentayga Bengala: posh SUV gets very, very angry

Apocolypse-ready Bentley Bentayga Bengala is a Bentayga prepped for the end of the world with just 15 units set to be built

There is no denying that the Bentley Bentayga is a vehicle with road presence as standard, thanks largely to its enormous size and imposing styling. However, Spanish design house and tuning company Bengala Automotive Design has taken the view that more aggression is needed and created the Bentley Bentayga Bengala.

Developed in partnership with a former Spanish off-road champion and his team, the Bentayga Bengala is a Bentayga stripped of its luxurious facade with its off-road ability turned up to 11.

There are obvious visual modifications over the standard Bentayga, which include a bespoke bull bar incorporated into the front end, a large steel horizontal bar running across the width of the nose for added protection and an integrated LED light strip.

Big chunky off-road tyres and oversized wheels help give the Bengala extra ground clearance for tackling terrain that most owners of the standard Bentayga could never imagine, while extended wheel arches and side skirts are needed to accommodate for those bigger wheels. There are also side-exiting exhaust pipes for an even more purposeful look.

A further LED light bar mounted on the roof, rear window louvres and an another protective steel bar extending across the rear bumper complete the exterior modifications.

There are no details yet about which engine will power the Bengala, either the Bentayga’s twin-turbo 6.0-litre W12 or the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 will take pride of place. We also don’t know whether Bengala will tune the selected engine for extra power to cope with the modifications and the aggressive intent of the car, in all honesty, it would be a shame not to.

Limited to just 15 units worldwide, the Bentayga Bengala has no confirmed price tag but any potential buyers can expect a significant increase over the standard car’s £130,000 asking price.
