Range Rover

Range Rover 4x4 2013

There’s nothing quite like a Range Rover. It combines the luxury of the best limousines with the legendary off-road ability for which Land Rover is famous.

• Range Rover review

It’s five metres long and 1.8 metres tall, so dwarfs most other cars. However, standard air-suspension means it can be lowered to improve access, while switching the Terrain Response system to one of its off-road modes raises the car’s ground clearance to 29.5cm.

And when you head off-road, you’ll be amazed by the Range Rover’s ability. Short overhangs allow it to tackle the steepest slopes, while it can ford most rivers, as it features an impressive 90cm wading depth. And just in case you’re unsure of your surroundings, there’s a variety of cameras and sensors monitoring your every move.

It’s better to enjoy driving this car than to think about its fuel consumption, as even the most efficient TDV6 model claims only 37.7mpg. But the best things in life don’t come cheap.
