SEAT Mii by MANGO launched

SEAT announces tie-up with Spanish fashion retailer MANGO and launch new version of Mii supermini

SEAT showcased its new top-spec Mii at the Geneva Motor Show – and explained it is part of an attempt to create a new identity for the car.

The Mii by MANGO is a tie-up with a leading Spanish fashion brand.

An insider told Auto Express that the Mii needs to carve out its own niche in the way its sister cars the Volkswagen upI and Skoda Citigo have.

“People associate the up! with VW tech and the Citigo with value,” said the insider. “We think the Mii can be associated with fashion, a more design-led identity.”

The stylish looks of the award-winning Leon and the fact that SEAT has a comparatively high percentage of female buyers already have given the brand confidence the Mii by Mango can boost sales.

Two exclusive exterior finishes are available on the Mii by MANGO: Nude and Deep Black. Exterior badging, dark grey 15-inch alloy wheels and heated electric door mirrors also help mark it out from standard models.

There are further unique touches inside such as the grey accents, leather steering wheel and gear knob, Alcantara upholstered seats and Mii by MANGO lettering stitched into the headrests. The special edition also has a hook on the glovebox to safely hang a bag, plus specifically designed floor mats, door sills and keyfob.

Available in either three or five door body styles, the Mii by MANGO will become the new range-topping model in the lineup. Standard kit includes air conditioning, the SEAT Portable System Live, hill hold control, remote controlled central locking and front electric windows.

Under the bonnet the 59bhp 1.0-litre petrol engine will remain, which is good for over 62mpg. Pricing or availability has yet to be announced but the special edition model will make its way into showrooms by the summer. Is is likely to command a premium over current top-spec models.
