Volvo launches free puncture and windscreen repairs

Volvo UK will fix punctures and windscreen chips on its own cars of any age free-of-charge, where possible

Volvo customer service

Volvo owners in the UK can now get punctures and windscreen chips on their car repaired for free, regardless of their vehicle’s age.

The “industry-first free repair service” is aimed at getting Volvo owners back on the road safely as soon as possible after their car has sustained tyre or windscreen damage, the Swedish brand says.

Owners who want to take advantage of the scheme can bring their Volvo to any dealership, where qualified technicians will check to see if a repair is possible and carry it out if so. In most instances, this can be done on the spot while the customer waits.

If it’s not possible to carry out a simple repair for free, the technician will advise the customer what to do, arranging for a new tyre or windscreen to be fitted where necessary.

Kristian Elvefors, managing director of Volvo Car UK, said: “As well as reducing the nuisance factor of minor damage, this new service helps keep cars in safe condition and, in the case of windscreens, can prevent chips leading to cracks and more costly replacements.

“We value all Volvo drivers, no matter how old their car might be, and this new service is the perfect way to help them stay safe, secure and mobile.”

What do you think of Volvo’s free tyre and windscreen repair service? Should other manufacturers do the same? Let us know in the comments…
